FAQ’s
How Long Will It Take to Get My Solar System Installed?
While each project varies according to it’s unique parameters, the actual installation of your Solar System typically only takes a few days. However the entire process can take up to 2-3 months allowing for design and engineering, permit processing and approvals, material procurement, inspections, Utility connections and permission to operate (PTO) approvals (by law the Utility has up to one month to approve PTO so you can throw the switch and turn on your system).
Do You Offer Financing?
Yes we offer financing options exclusively through our trusted partners at Green Biz Financial and Go Green Financing
What If I Have Shade On My Property?
Solar arrays must be mostly free of shade for at least 6 hours each day to function effectively. Shade can significantly reduce solar energy production. Our team will carefully assess the shading patterns of your roof and incorporate that data into our energy production calculations and any mitigation recommendations into our overall solar system design.
Roof Mounted or Ground Mounted Solar Panels?
Roof-mounted solar panels are usually less expensive than ground-mounted systems as they require a special metal structure that increases cost. In addition, the space requirements for ground mounted panels is typically prohibitive, although ground-mounted systems can be slightly easier to clean and maintain.
Does My Solar Array Have To Face South?
No, a solar array doesn’t have to be South facing, West or East facing is also feasible. In some cases, even a North facing system produces electricity at a lower cost than what the local utility charges. Our team will carefully review the specific conditions of your site and reccomend the most optimal solution accordingly.
After My Solar System is Installed, Will I Have Power When the Grid Goes Down?
Over 90% of the solar systems installed in the U.S.A. today are grid tied systems with no battery back-up. If there is a power outage most solar customers will also lose power. There are a couple ways to build a system that give you some or all of your power when the grid is down. Sadler Solar designs, engineers and installs these types of solar systems on a regular basis. So if you want the peace of mind of keeping the lights on during a power outage, just let us know.
Will I Need to Clean My Solar Panels?
We design all of our systems with factoring in some loss of production due to the typical accumulation of dust and dirt on the surface of the solar panels. Typically we figure in a loss of about 5%, which works fine if it rains about once per month. A good, hard rain does a good job of washing off your solar panels. In Southern California sometimes we go months without rain, where you will need to wash dust and dirt off the panels by simply spraying them down with a clear stream of water. You can typically just use your garden hose from the ground and make it rain on your solar panels. A thorough cleaning and maintenance check is advisable at least once a per year depending on the environmental conditions where you live.
